So you’ve decided to steal a dragonball Z DVD and you don’t know which one is best? Well I’m here to succor you out friend. This is the begining of my personal celebrated saga in the intire DBZ outfit. That is of course the Freezer(frieza) saga. It has the most compeling chronicle line that I’ve ever seen in an anime saga. Not to metion that the japanise music and dioluge are far better than the english DUB. I highly recommend buying this and future Freezer(frieza) DVD.

and it is really superior. This DVD is gargantuan cause it continues where the Namek and Ginyu sagas left off and sets up the Frieza saga. It is a tremendous segway. This DVD also resolves some things left from the Saiyan saga. Alot happens but i wont slay it for you. You really should pick this DVD but select it with Frieza: Transformation for a dependable treat.

“To Heart” is a very respectable adept of high school life in japan. With the typical high school day to day life, drama, stress, comedy with a few touches of romance. If your looking for your typical romantic comedy this isnt for you. I’m more into the romantic comedy myself but the series had plunty of drama and comedy to hold me going. From my high school point of veiw i never really enjoyed it worthy. From watching this i wish more schools in america were more like this i would have enjoyed it alot more.

An beneficial anime. This anime was produced in the unhurried 1990’s and aired in Japan in 1999. It was acquired by Rightstuf and digitalized (checkout their web study for details of the difficulty to restore from film) . Disk 1 has four episodes. Disks 2,3,& 4 have three episodes and 2 mini episodes.

I will leave myth reviews and art critique to other reviewers I found nothing to complain about. Overall this is the legend of High school students and their interactions. Nothing recent here, there is a exiguous of everything and it is though-provoking as a lop of life program. You could argue that there are better and funnier and more intelligent anime of this kind available and you can pick up far worse.

For legend and art work 4 stars. For restoration to digital format and providing an English enlighten track 5 stars.

The box spot is a noble deal. I hope they can secure the second season someday.

Also, the studio that made this anime also made Droll Party. You should sight that anime as well as Comical Party Revolution. I Assume the “Silly Party” anime is a microscopic better than “ToHeart” but that is impartial my idea.

I’ve read so many reviews TRASHING the special effects of Tron and its state. First of all, it’s easy with our recent ILM and digital masterpieces like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, Jurassic Park, etc. to criticize a movie made in 1982 but the bottom line is that the effects, for its time, were wonderful!! I remember as a kid watching this movie with my mouth hanging originate. I watched it, as a matter of fact, this week, on DVD and it level-headed impresses me.

The key to being thoughtful and indispensable of movies is to be able to contemplate them in the context of their time. I could easily peer Star Fling episodes and say, “ha!! Peek at that! Since our FX are so grand better now days, that series isn’t even relevent!!” That’s, in a nutshell, what I read one reviewer saying, that the FX of Tron are corney by novel standards to it’s irrelevent. I judge the area, and withhold in mind this IS a Disney movie, though simple, is a pleasant one. There is no sex, hurtful violence or garbage. Spruce movie, I as an adult quiet treasure it, and it’s in general a stout flick. Give it a shatter folks!

When Tron came out in 1982, it was intended to be a visually blooming parable against the powers of computers and technology. More than twenty years later, the movie plays more like a nostalgic ode to the early 1980s, than a simple obedient vs. rank morality record. Tron evokes the heady days when video games like Pac Man, Defender and Centipede ruled the arcades and when everyone owned a Commodore 64 or an Atari 2600 — the eight track of personal computing.

Writer/director Steven Lisberger creates a flashy, neon-drenched world, a cybernetic version of Social Darwinism where lowly computer programs must participate in gladiatorial battles against the Master Control’s ruthless minions. Even though the computer effects study faded now, wait on then they were considered ahead of their time. Fortunately, Lisberger has not remastered the special effects with contemporary computer graphics (occupy designate George Lucas) . There is a obvious clunky charm to the effects that makes Tron all that more endearing to its fans.

Tron is one of those rare examples where style over substance works. The computer world that Lisberger and his team worked so hard to produce is rich in detail. It also plays on our romantic notions of what really goes on inside our computers — not a collection of microchips and circuit boards but a stout world where programs fight each other for survival. It’s no wonder that visionary science fiction writer, William Gibson once commented in an interview that the cyberworld in Tron is how he envisioned the cyberspace in his novels.

The audio commentary with director Steven Lisberger, producers Donald Kushner and Harrison Ellenshaw, and special effects wizard, Richard Taylor. There is a relaxed feel to the track as these guys reminisce about working on the movie. The commentary does tend to lean more towards the technical aspects of making the movie as opposed to anecdotal deliver but the documentary on disc two covers this aspect in more detail.

Disc two features a wealth of supplemental material that was mostly carried over from a special edition laserdisc situation that Disney released many years ago. The DVD reorganizes all of these extras into several easily navigable sections.

The best extra on the second disc is a comprehensive 90-minute documentary entitled, “The Making of Tron.” Every aspect of the movie, from its humble origins to the struggles of getting it made are covered with impress novel interviews with Lisberger and his crew and Jeff Bridges and the cast (minus David Warner) . Everyone speaks fondly of his or her experiences working on Tron. This retrospective watch at the movie 20 years later is a dependable treat for the fans and is the crowning touch on this superior dwelling.

With so remarkable junk on TV these days,it is so refreshing to discover The Waltons with it’s unprejudiced basic family values on the hide again. It’s nice to gawk a display that isn’t mean inviting as so many American shows are these days.

The Waltons made it’s debut in the US on Sept 14th 1972 and continued on for nine seasons.

One negative point-in what must have been a production error,the subtitles are in French only. There are no English subtitles.

Obviously someone at Warners Home Video has made a unpleasant mistake in production. This makes it difficult for any elderly viewers or hard of hearing that might want to gaze this exhibit.

Subtitles are supposed to be standard on all DVD box sets and I mark that overseas versions of The Waltons have corrected this mistake(objective not the American version) .

Hopefully,they will obtain that fair when Season Two one day gets a release.

Other reviewers have thoroughly reviewed the details of the Waltons first year on TV with titles and area descriptions, so I won’t explain further. Instead, I will sigh you why I feel this DVD spot is perhaps is the best series that ever aired on TV, and is correct family entertainment.

The Waltons first aired in 1972 on CBS. It was considered “hokey” by some of the critics of the day, yet it captured the hearts of the viewers and went on to be one of the finest long-running series on TV. It captured peoples hearts because it told stories of right people, proper people in a family that loved and cared for each other. Although many of the stories are of course fictional, the writer, Earl Hamner (who is actually John-boy), weaves fiction with real-life drama and shows how his loving family dealt with the hard times they grew up in, and how they related to each other with adore. In essence, the Waltons shows the viewer what all of us would like our families to be like. One cannot relieve caring about the characters because Hamner does such a titanic job of developing their original personalities for us. The actors and actresses that play his family are perfect for the parts, and even though many of them are honest children, their realistic acting makes one contain they are actually a precise family. The series is carried on the shoulders of three central characters, John-Boy (Richard Thomas), his mother Olivia Walton (Michael Learned), and Father John Walton (played by Ralph Waite) . All three are absolutely agreeable in their respective roles, and earned honors and accolades for their depiction of Hamner’s family. When these three characters eventually left ths demonstrate in later years, the demonstrate itself folded.

If you have never seen The Waltons on TV, this is the set to open. The first season is perhaps the best, with stories that will produce you laugh, shout, and cheer. I peek the shows with my enjoy 6 children and even in these original days with so many other distractions, my kids are thrilled with the stories. Each child relates to a particular Walton child, and after finishing an episode, they beg to glimpse another.

Television does not accept better than The Waltons. I recommend this series for those viewers who desire more family values and less violence, sex, and questionable language and topics in their tv viewing. This is lawful family values TV, and I wish we had something like it today. The Waltons will consume your heart, and you will approach to care for the characters and care about them. Forbidden Planet is an fabulous movie and no Sci-Fi fan should be without it. The transfer on the 50th Anniversary and Ultimate Collector’s Editions is wonderful. I’ve never seen the film watch so vivid, crisp and vibrant. The included documentaries and bonus footage are very inspiring and not to be missed.

A word of warning though, the Ultimate Collector’s Edition is a bit of a rip off. The included Robby the Robot toy was the main reason I bought this plot and it’s great smaller (and less detailed) than the images lead you to have. I haven’t opened mine, but it looks like it’s not even articulated. Definitely not worth the extra money I had to pay. The lobby card reporductions are nice, as is the tin case, but unless you understanding to expose these it’s hard to explain the added cost.

Be lustrous, skip the Ultimate Collector’s Edition and purchase the 50th Anniversary Edition. You’ll bag unprejudiced the dependable same transfer and bonus material without the cheap toy and lobby cards.

It’s comic, me being a fan of science fiction and movies in general, why it is that it took me so long to bag around to watching Forbidden Planet (1956) . Share of it is I feel as if I’ve already seen the film, as clips from it are usually always shown whenever someone does a documentary on science fiction in film, as it’s honest such an influential and extraordinary allotment of work. Now, I’ve heard that this movie is loosely based on Shakespeare’s play, The Tempest, but since I’ve never read it, I can’t comment on comparisons between the play and the film. Here we learn all the members of that fated crew have been killed off, except for Morbius and his daughter (whom Morbius had when he procreated with another member of the recent crew), Altaira (Francis), by some unseen, yet completely snide, force, to which Morbius and his daughter seem immune. Not expecting to catch any survivors, Commander Adams now has to change his plans to include trying to contact his superiors and receive further instructions on how to travel, despite Morbuis’ protests that they should leave as soon as possible, leaving him and his daughter gradual so that he may continue his research. What is his research? Well, it seems that many hundreds of thousands of years ago, the planet was inhabited by a highly advanced bustle of being called the Krell, who mysteriously vanished seemingly overnight in comparison to their collective power, intelligence and abilities, and while their cities have long since gone, a big deal of their technology survived underneath the ground, and Morbius has managed to accumulate some notion of these beings, even being able to pry bits of information and such in the 20 weird years that he’s been here. Joan gives a huge performance here. Well, let’s face it, she never gave a awful one regardless of the movie itself.

Several of these films have been on DVD before, and when they were released several came with featurettes, so I’m hoping at least that remarkable gets carried over into the modern boxed residence. Specifically there were short featurettes on the modern Sardonicus, Homicidal, 13 Ghosts, Tingler, and Strait-Jacket.

Now if only whoever it was who owned the rights to the 1958 Castle film Macabre would order a DVD release.

William Castle wasn’t simply a film maker. William Castle was a showman. So worthy so that going to the opening of one of his films was an event as opposed to going to a movie. Special stunts were what Castle was notorious for and several of these films featured those. While audiences can’t bask in the shows he save on in theaters these days, they can accumulate enjoyment in his films on DVD with the release of THE WILLIAM CASTLE FILM COLLECTION from Sony.

This collection may not include all of his films but it does include a number of his better pictures as well as several never before released to DVD. And those that have already been released are given a well deserved treatment here by including them in this collection. So what’s in it? Eight movies for young and conventional.
